Movie Time
Motion
pictures have transformed the world of entertainment over the past 100
years. Stories told on the big screen in two hours' time have taken
us to new places, taught us life lessons, made us think and feel, and
most importantly, helped us laugh. This larger than life medium dominates
the world of acting and the realm of entertainment magazines.
Of
course, there are numerous awards devoted to the makers of our beloved
films. When the Academy Awards ceremony rolls around, make your own
list of favorites. Rent a classic you've always wanted to see or buy
a dvd that you know you'll watch again and again. Make some popcorn
(or Kettle Corn!), sit back, and let yourself
sink into the world of movies.
Movie

Here are a few of Amy's favorites. Coming from a "Classic Movie
Channels" junkie, you'll notice quite a few Cary Grant, Doris Day,
and Grace Kelly entries - but hey, you can't go wrong with such "greats"!

Kettle
Corn
Kettle Corn has been a favorite attraction at county
fairs nation-wide. You can even buy microwaveable versions of it now,
but homemade tastes much better! It's slightly sweet, but still salty,
bringing together two great tastes with a crunchy movie-time favorite.
3 Tbl vegetable oil
1/2 cup popcorn kernels
2 Tbl sugar
salt
1.
Heat oil in thin aluminum pan over high heat.
2. When oil is hot (check with one kernel, if desired) add popcorn kernels
and sugar.
3. Shake over high heat until popping slows, almost stopping.
4. Pour immediately into a large bowl. Add salt as desired.
